This is the image for the news article titled Olympia Water TestingIn 2017, the State Legislature passed a new requirement for all elementary schools built before the year 2000 to be tested for lead in the water.  We had two elementary buildings that fell under the requirement to test: Olympia West in Minier, and Olympia South in Atlanta.  Neither building had any tests come in over 5 parts per billion (ppb), which is the Illinois Department of Public Health standard for notifying families.  The U.S. EPA standard is 10ppb.  Olympia Middle/High School is tested monthly because we operate our own private water system.  It has never tested at, or near 5 ppb.
