Fellowship of Christian Athletes Bringing Light to OHS

By Jadyn Talbert, OHS Torch Reporter Fellowship of Christian Athletes or FCA is a safe place at OHS where students in extracurricular activities can come together in worship, learn more about God and meet new friends.

FCA meetings occur every first and third Friday of the month in Mr. Jones room B8. On average about 30 kids show up to every meeting.

These meeting are ran by eight leaders, Seniors Hannah While and Emma Spracklen, Juniors Dylan Marris, Morgan Aldridge, Sophomores Jackson Castleman, Carley Martin and Kelsey Lessen, and Freshman James Davis. All leaders get together once a month to find ways to make FCA enjoyable and knowledgeable place to learn about God.

Each meeting consists of a different leader teaching a bible based lesson of their choice, an activity to get to know everyone and a time for everyone to worship together.

“We are always looking for more students to join and experience the excitement of FCA meetings,” said Mr. Jones FCA sponsor.

Any student involved in an extracurricular activity can join by just showing up to any meeting. If any student is interested in joining the leaders of FCA they must fill out a FCA application to get approved.

“I love how FCA is a place where students can come learn about God and fellowship together, these meetings are helping Christian students shed light on our school,” stated by Sophomore Kelsey Lessen

Kelsey Lessen plans to bring new ideas to FCA such as, praying every morning before and working to allow FCA more than twice a month. With these plans she hopes that FCA will be able to spread the word to more students.
