Successful Program Welcomes Successful Athlete

Olympia Softball receives big boost after Junior Emme Olsen transfers to Olympia from Hartsburg-Emden and looks to help the program bring home its first State trophy since 2009.

Olsen brings a lot to the table for the Lady Spartans. She is already a verbal commit to Illinois State University. She is known for her stellar hitting that is always consistent.

Olsen also seems to be gelling well in the first week of practice. Many of the girls have gotten to know her throughout the school year and love her as a person.

“Emme is super laid back and she can always make all of us laugh,” said Junior Lauren Turner.

Olsen surely didn’t come here to join a successful program. She came to get enrolled in better classes and take advantage of our dual enrollment classes with Heartland Community College.

“I came for more college courses with teachers at Olympia so I did not have to do online class,” said Olsen.

The team is surely excited for the new season after adding a new coach and a very talented third baseman in Emme Olsen. They will be a threat again for teams in the state and are looking to make it to Peoria in June.

Students at Olympia are excited about the team and also can’t wait to get it started. They also hope they put another state trophy in the commons of Olympia.
