Bio
Andrew Gallegos is currently the director of choral activities at Olympia, teaching curricular groups for grades 7-12 as well as the auditioned high school Chamber Choir & Vocal Jazz Ensemble (Route 66)

Mr. Gallegos is a vocal music education graduate of Millikin University with experience teaching students of all ages, ranging from kindergarten to college. Mr. Gallegos has worked with accomplished directors such as Ted Hesse, Michael Engelhardt, Dr. Guy Forbes and Dr. Brad Holmes - and took over direction of the men’s ensemble, the Millikin Men - leading the group in a performance with the critically acclaimed Chicago Children’s Choir. 

After graduation, Mr. Gallegos became a faculty member at Millikin directing the Concert Youth Chorale, the top-auditioned ensemble in the Millikin Children’s Choir program - touring Nashville, TN as well as a guest ensemble with Illinois State University to sing Britten’s “War Requiem”. Other teaching experiences include K-6 general music and junior high choir in the Decatur Public Schools, and choir and instrumental teaching at the Lutheran Schools Association of Decatur. Mr. Gallegos also assists with the choir at his church, Christ Church PCA in Normal, IL. Mr. Gallegos and his wife, Kelsie, have two beautiful children, Lucy and Asher.
