American Studies

During this one-semester course students will examine American history starting with a review of European colonization. The course will focus on selected chronological themes from Colonial America to the beginnings of the Cold War.  Throughout the semester students will explore the economic, social, and political institutions of our country and discover the role the United States has played in the development of a global community. In addition to American history, students will discover events that are affecting society today and discuss how these are changing our world.
